Secret Agent Jayla

Tuesday was Ebube's birthday, my baby is now a pre-teen. He's grown so fast and is such a hard worker. Decided to treat him to an evening out, his mum and sister joined us. We started the evening at Clue Quest.

Clue quest is a live escape game that sees a team of 3-5 players get locked in a room that they won’t be able to escape from until they’ve solved enough puzzles to unlock every last lock in the place – and there are loads.  As soon as you walk through the game door, you become a secret agent with codes to crack, padlocks to open and clues to find — all moving you closer to the exit through a maze of cryptic steps.

This is one of the top-ranked activities in London on TripAdvisor, so it is really popular. No weekend availability until March.

It was a lot of fun! I will definitely be back to play the Plan 52 room. They took a photo of us and we signed the guest book.

Ebube was King, Adaeze was Star, Sis was Brain and I, Ninja.

And then we made our way to Hot Box on Commercial Road.

It. Was. Meatfest! Meat, meat, meat and more meat. We had the Hotbox Smoked Selection, pork ribs, smoked chicken thigh, mac & cheese, pickled jalapeño slaw and sweet potato fries.

Everything was perfectly cooked. The mac & cheese was the best I've ever had. I had most of it by myself and I'm usually not keen on it. I was grateful for the scotch bonnet slices as I'm a lover of hot food.

As it was a school night, we couldn't stay out for long. The birthday boy did enjoy his day and showered me with kisses as they dropped me off.

In other news, my baby made it on a satellite programme in Nigeria (and aired across Africa). I shared a letter he wrote to his parents asking for money on twitter, the presenter on the show saw it and asked to feature him.

I am so proud of my Bubu a.k.a Bubelicious.
