JRC Buffet, Croydon
Last Friday My Brother and I went to Ikea in Croydon to get an office chair for my mini home office. I am doing a bit of studying this year as well as working on a community project and it is almost impossible to get any work done while cuddled under the duvet (which is my favourite place to be).
After walking around Ikea and picking up things we hadn't thought we needed, I was exhausted and hungry and talking him into going to Nando's. We got there, saw a very long queue and while we were pulling out to go home, my eyes caught the sign for JRC Buffet.
I remembered I had seen them advertise in the Metro and I had even gotten my sister to go be our guinea pig last summer. At £18.99 with unlimited non-alcoholic drinks included in the price, we decided to give it a try.
You pay before you enter and they give you some vouchers for 'VIP' drinks (we never got to use ours so not sure what you really get) and £5 off your next visit. We walked into this massive hall that seats probably 500 to 700 people. It was huge, it was loud, there were so many birthday groups but there were a lot of food stations; Chinese, Japanese, Seafood, Indian, Thai, European, Grill, Italian and lots of desserts. Definitely not a place for a quiet meal or special occasion or a date.
Tried to take photos but a waiter came up to me and said no photos allowed but I had managed to get the ones below. It was no frills, the ice cream tasted like it was straight out of Lidl but the rest of the food I had tasted good. Not sure I will travel all the way to Croydon to dine here again but If I find myself in the neighbourhood, I'll stop by.
