Brunch In Lagos

Brunch In Lagos

Escaped to Lagos for a little over a week to switch off and rest after a particularly difficult period. My oasis of choice was The George, a lovely boutique hotel tucked away from the hustle & bustle of Lagos. There are three things I love about this hotel: The service, the homey atmosphere and the bottomless boozy Sunday brunch!

Every day at breakfast Gordon, the new manager, stopped by my table for a quick chat. We spoke about his plans for the hotel, his very interesting career and of course, Scotland. A worthy mention goes to Raphael who helped out when I hosted a couple of friends for drinks and canapés. I must have called him up over a dozen times with different requests and he always showed up with a smile on his face. Nothing quite makes you feel at home like smiling familiar faces who address you by name from the very first day.

When Gordon mentioned they do Sunday brunch with bottomless bubbly I was excited because what beats stuffing your face with food, getting drunk and then crawling up to your room to sleep it off? Nothing! Well, it didn’t exactly play out that way but the girls and I wore our Sunday best, had lots to eat, good conversations, laughed a lot and indulged in the very best activity in Lagos – people watching.

If boozy brunch is your thing, check out The George. Best to call in advance for reservation as it can get very busy.

xx
