Vukov Konak: Girlcation On The Mountain

I sure do like these two.

Vukov Konak is a small wooden mountain lodge some 20 minutes from Sarajevo with no mobile network, no wifi, no TV, basically, where you go to unplug and be one with nature (and cats).

We unplugged with lots of mountain tea and rakija.

Took a short walk around the cabin, played in the snow, changed into our onesies and had dinner by the fire. Did we look silly? Yes, but silly is fun!

Had a cat fighting with my slippers because it really thought it was a dog. Took me back 15 years ago when my dog tried to fight a cat and got slapped silly.

I watched the fire, I read two books by the fire, I drank coffee by the fire, I was sad to leave the fire.

This is the second year I’m spending New Year’s Day in an isolated cabin with open fire (Check Last Year). Who knows, it may just become a personal tradition.
